Laser hair removal
Laser hair removal is a modern way of removing unwanted hair over the long term. The laser beam targets the hair follicles without damaging the surrounding skin. The treatment is suitable for women and men and, thanks to individually adjusted settings, can be tailored to your skin type and hair characteristics.
Who is the treatment suitable for?
Laser hair removal is suitable for women and men who want to reduce the growth of unwanted hair over the long term and cut down on regular shaving or other hair removal methods. We also recommend it for clients with ingrown hairs, skin irritation after shaving or recurrent inflammation of the hair follicles. The best results are usually achieved on fair skin with darker hair, but after individual assessment, modern technology also makes it possible to treat some darker skin phototypes or slightly tanned skin.

Course of the treatment
The laser beam specifically targets hair follicles containing the pigment melanin. The laser energy disrupts their ability to produce new hair without damaging the surrounding skin. Only hairs in the active growth phase (anagen) can be treated effectively, which is why a course of several treatments is needed to achieve the best result.

How many treatments are needed?
The number of treatments varies from person to person and depends on the area treated, skin type, hair characteristics and hormonal factors. In most cases we recommend 6–8 treatments at intervals of approximately 1–4 months. Once the initial course is complete, maintenance treatments can be carried out as needed.
Before and after treatment
Before the treatment, our medical staff will assess the condition of your skin, your hair type and any contraindications. Laser hair removal cannot be performed on areas with acute skin inflammation or on certain types of moles. Nor should the treatment be performed on tanned skin, whether from sun exposure or a sunbed, as this may cause depigmentation. Ideally, the hairs should be approximately 0.5–1 mm long.
After the treatment, slight redness or a sensation of warmth may occur, which usually subsides within a few hours. The treated hairs gradually fall out on their own over several days to weeks. After the procedure, we recommend protecting your skin from UV radiation, using the recommended moisturising care and following the instructions of your doctor.
Benefits of the procedure
Long-term reduction of hair growth.
Gentle treatment without damage to the skin.
Quick outpatient procedure.
Suitable for men and women.
FAQ
Is laser hair removal painful?
Most clients experience the treatment as a brief stinging sensation that is easy to tolerate. The procedure is quick and the laser is equipped with skin cooling. For more sensitive or larger areas, a numbing cream can be applied about an hour before the procedure.
How should I prepare for the treatment?
The hairs should be approximately 0.5–1 mm long, so it is advisable to trim or shave them a day or two beforehand. Your skin should not be tanned from the sun or a sunbed. Between sessions, hairs can be removed with an epilator, tweezers or wax (except on the face); regular shaving is less suitable.
Where can laser hair removal be performed?
Almost all areas of the body can be treated – for example the upper lip, chin, underarms, bikini line, chest, back or limbs. The exceptions are areas with acute skin inflammation and certain types of moles.
Which skin type is suitable for hair removal?
The ideal combination is fair skin and dark hair. After an individual assessment by a doctor, slightly tanned or darker skin can also be treated with adjusted settings.
What does the skin look like after the procedure?
Short-term redness and a burning sensation are common and subside within minutes to hours. In rare cases, very sensitive skin may develop swelling, a small blister, a scab or a change in pigmentation. At home, it is advisable to use the recommended care products with a UV filter.
