Who is the treatment suitable for?
We recommend the examination to anyone who has a suspicious mole or pigmented spot on their body – especially if its size, shape or colour has changed. A check-up is also important for people with a family history of skin cancer, those who frequently spend long periods in the sun or use sunbeds, and people with a large number of moles or freckles. Regular monitoring makes it possible to detect changes early that might require further care.
Why have your moles checked
Most moles are harmless, but some skin changes may signal the development of a skin tumour, including melanoma. The earlier a high-risk change is detected, the greater the chance of successful treatment. Modern digital technology makes it possible not only to examine moles in detail, but also to document them and compare them at subsequent visits. This allows the doctor to reliably monitor whether a mole is changing over time and to recommend further steps in good time.

How the examination works
The doctor scans individual moles with a special micro-camera that captures detailed high-resolution images. The software then performs an automatic analysis of the pigmented lesions and provides the doctor with diagnostic information for assessing the risk. The images are stored, so at the next check-up the comparison function can be used to monitor whether previously examined moles have changed. The examination is painless and quick, taking approximately ten minutes on average.

Course of the treatment
Before the examination, it is advisable to avoid excessive sun exposure and sunbeds, so that the skin is not irritated and the pigmentation is not distorted. During your visit, the doctor will discuss your medical history and any moles that concern you, and will then scan them one by one with the micro-camera. They will explain the results of the analysis and recommend the next steps – regular monitoring or, if necessary, removal of a high-risk mole. The whole examination takes ten minutes on average.
What happens after the examination
The examination itself requires no special aftercare. If the doctor assesses a mole as high-risk, they may recommend its surgical removal (excision) followed by microscopic, i.e. histological, examination. Some moles can also be removed by laser. Depending on the findings, the doctor may suggest regular check-ups to monitor how your moles develop. Between check-ups, it is advisable to protect your skin from the sun and to look out for new or changing spots.
